Hey Chris,
How do I go about getting a class flag (Black w/ Catamaran)? You do need that ,right?

Chris:

2 F-16s (maybe 3) will need flags also. BTW, do you really have to check-in before the warning signal @ 9:00 am and hang around until 10:20 am? Boring.

Chesapeake Catamaran Open Class Flags:

I will check the CRAC Trailer tomorrow (Sat 9/6) that is currently located at Rock Hall YC .... I've checked w/ Mark Schnieder and we believe there is some "Class Flags" in the trailer. If there are any flags availible the cost is $25.00ea ... Please note these are custom flags designed by John McLaughlin and made for CRAC (FYI: "Code Flags" at West, Fawcetts, and APS are $28-$30ea). I will be in Annapolis on Friday night before the NASS Race so you can arrange to meet me then, (and buy me a Yuengling Lager).

Chris Allen, please give me a Call on my cell.

Todd, send me a "PM" please.

And "NO" ... you do not need to check in before 9:00am .... just before your start time.

It is best to arrive in the starting area BEFORE your start time leaving PLENTY of time to get to the check-in boat among all the boats and confusion. The check-in boat is usually located approximently 500yards away from the starting line.

Short History of CBYRA's "MARK X"

Severn River "R2" is famous among mono-hullers as for many years, it has been the Rendezvous point for most (maybe all) of the events held in Annapolis including all the J-Boat races, Annapolis Race week etc !!!!!

So when you speak/converse w/ mono-huller racers just mention to them ... "Yah, I've started at "Severn R2" ... we did the NASS Race ... ON A BEACH CAT!!!!!"

I'll see ya there along w/ Mark Schnieder, Rob Lancaster, Aric Euler ... just look for the biggest Tri in the multihull fleet ...

See ya at the BEER WAGON after the race!

Well then please make sure you pass us close enough so as we can take some pic's and give you wave !!! and remember as Kirby discovered last year, TripleThreat has a HUGE windshadow to leeward.

And by the way it is GREAT that you guys are carrying on w/ what Mark and I started on a "open" weekend on a whim w/ a phonecall on the Friday before the race at 1200 noon .... it makes me personally very happy to see you guys charge past ... I maybe on a "Big Boat" but I will always be a BEACH CATTER first!!!!

Ah... they only have one arm to sheet with.... 30 miles in breeze will grind them down and make their PN number irrelevant!

It's the A Cats that are watching the weather and planning a dash that could give you heartburn.

Back in the day... Mike Kerrigan raced his 18sq in the 150 mile Down the Bay and placed.. It has been done!
