Posts: 1,187 38.912, -95.37 | I purchased a 16 that had a Cheeta and a 2hp Evinrude short shaft motor. I never used it (so obviously can't comment on hp), as the previous owner lost the arm (I ground the rivets off to remove the base and sold the motor) He used when the wind died on the South China Sea. The (15-20 degree) downward angle of the (15 to 18") arm from the rear crossbar makes the short shaft motor sit plenty deep.

Unregistered | i THINK Cheata is the maker of the motor mount.. and you can use different motors on them. I know Murrays.com used to sell a motor mount.
They mount on the rear beam. There are permanent and temporary ways to mount them.
I also know someone who uses a trolling motor on the front beam of his H21. With Jib only (and trolling motor) they go from a boat ramp to an island for weekend camping. They raise the main when they remove the gear from the boat.. it works well for them. | | | Re: Motor Mount for an H18SE
