Posts: 127 Florida | The Keys100 Reef Run will start Saturday Morning, 25 April, from the Islander Resort, Islamorada. This race replaces the Hogs Breath race of years past. Several boats are already in position at the resort, to start on this forcasted 80 mile sled ride to Key West. The race is for two person crewed catamarans up to 22 feet with spinnakers and dagger boards. Winds are forcast at over 12 mph, from NE to SE, likely due east. Hotels are still available, The Grand Key Doubletree resort is refering sailors to the Holiday Inn at 3850 Roosevelt Blvd., phone # 305 294 6681. Mention the Race at reservations, rates under $140. Support crews will want to turn left at the "T" arriving on Key West, and follow A1A to the south just passed the airport. Sailors will arrive on Smathers Beach. Metered parking is avalable just off the beach. Bring quarters. Awards will be made at the Grand Key Doubletree Resort by the pool deck at 7:00PM. A limited menu meal will be available at discounted rates at this event. Left over funds from registration will suplement the meal cost. Sailors will be asked to provide the number of attendees for the meal at registration. The NOR has been and is is available on the NOR Forum, way down the forum list, this web site. Registration will be on the pool deck at the Islander resort, after 5PM Friday, April 24th, finger food provided. Registration continues Saturday morning by the Watersports building.

Posts: 5,558 Key Largo, FL & Put-in-Bay, OH... | I found at least three under $100 and Days Inn starts at $80. I know there are bed-and-breakfast places that are lower than that. The problem is that some of the smaller, less expensive places have minimum number of nights stay, and one night doesn't cut it.

Posts: 127 Florida | No you do not have to stay at the Islander to place your boat there, but you do have to check in with Dennis of Islander Watersports to leave your boat there. And you may leave the boat there until the Tybee 500. W Green
