The I17R became the F17. The I17 (no R) that you mention in your post has a shorter mast than the I17R/F17, so the sail would not fit.

youthinkthe problem would be at he boom end?...or mast tip?

The F17 sail is bigger.

I believe luff in longer and so is the foot.

Bruce, it will not fit on your I17.
