I have un-bent mine buy using two heafty trees and a come-a-long. Check the Hobie 16 forum both here and at the Hobie Forum. There are a number of ways to UNBEND a BENT spreaderless mast.

Posts: 41 Tampa, Fl | We bend all manner of metals to test them. One aspect of aluminum is it takes the largest mandrel (round surface) to bend it without over stressing the point of contact. Aluminum suddenly breaks if the stress point is too focused. Heating helps... some... but bear in mind that aluminum does not let you know it is about to turn into a liquid state by glowing.
