Posts: 757 japan | i think the rig can cant enough that even with the centre hull flying the mast is still vertical
wonder how long it takes to go from 1 cant to the other in a tack......presumable they start pulling it in long before the tack

Posts: 807 Hillsborough, NC USA | i wonder how long it takes to go from 1 cant to the other in a tack......presumable they start pulling it in long before the tack I expect they let out the windward shroud, take up the slack on the lee side, and then tack. That way, the mast is canted to windward without having to fight the wind to get it there. | | | Re: Requesting A Fly By

Posts: 951 Brisbane, Queensland, Australi... | yeah, the current campaigns are definitely not worth that much. some estimates are that they are actually cheaper than the last AC campaigns...one boat, one crew, no challenger series, shorter lead-up, reduced unit material costs* = reduced campaign costs. the only things that would go against that is possibly more materials and increased legal bills, but that's the game.
* - obtaining carbon that meets the exact maximum material properties allowed in the old AC rules can cost more than just buying the top of the line carbon off the shelf.

Go to Google Maps and enter Mountain Home Road, Woodside, CA. Find the Mountain Home Road, Shadowbrook Lane intersection. Just to the North East there's a man made lake. If the wind is right you can fly a hull past Larry's house. US Sail Level 2 Instructor US Sail Level 3 Coach | | | Re: Requesting A Fly By

I agree on the boats but wouldn't it be fun to do a screaming reach by the house? Kinda like streaking back in the '80s. US Sail Level 2 Instructor US Sail Level 3 Coach | | | Re: Requesting A Fly By
