For everyone wanting to know how we went...
Peter, Nic and myself turned up Saturday and got the boats off trailers, rigged and ready for the sails to go up. The wind was blowing out at about 15 knots with some strong gusts, but by 12:30 the stronger gusts managed to have Nic's boat flying a hull under mast alone, the Toy was moving itself backwards out of the way while Lemon Peel just sat there and rocked about (sorry Peter)

. All hands ran to the beach to secure things, then started grumbling about the white caps.

Briefing at 1:00pm told us that the weather station at Coldstream (down the road) was showing 27 knots with gusts above 40. We all looked at each other with the same thought - 'I aint doing that'

.
There were 6 starters in the mono fleet, with only 2 finishers. Some of the Sabres looked like they had outboards attached they had that much of a bow wave in the conditions.
All in all - a good day for rigging practice. At least we dont have to repair anything, and are good to try this weekend - Last report had it at 24 degrees again
