I started scraping off some barnacle "footprints" from my hull, and have done a little bit of sanding, but not much.

If I put some wax on the hulls, can I sail without discoloring the hulls, or do I need to do something more ambitious before I can sail without damaging them? If I do discolor the hulls, can I sand off the discoloration easily, or is this something I need to be very careful about?

You can find some information by doing a search on this forum for the phrase "waxing hulls" and also the phrase "cleaning hulls."
