Posts: 5,525 | "The Viper Class Association has agreed to purchase the class molds and the rights to appoint builders and distributors from Race One. " This quote refers to the dingy, not the catamaran, still, I find the idea intriguing.

A similar thing happened with the Dart 15 (aka Sprint 15) catamaran where the Association bought the moulds from Laser, found a suitable builder in South Africa and it has revitalised the class with new boats coming in to the UK for virtually the same price that Laser were charging 3 or more years ago.

Posts: 5,525 | Lack of innovation is not good, still, a revisit to the rules every three years or so might allow this to work.
I'm well satisfied with my Blade and don't really care if it becomes obsolete, but I wouldn't want to risk putting the rest of the class in that position.
The Dart you mentioned is doing well? Class numbers are increasing?
