Posts: 606 Maryland | I disagree with you. It is not worth mentioning and your sarcasm stoops below the belt. This kind of posting only poisons our class as a bunch of misfits, when most of us do not participate in this kind of snide remarks. We all have bad days regardless of equipment and skill.

Some things are better said or thought in private or among friends.
There is no point in celebrating the bad luck of any given sailor in public (no matter how much we all dislike said person due to his other activities)

Posts: 242 Brisveagas | You Guys are trying to sink the boot into Macca again, and ingnoring the fact that 2 F16s are in the Top Ten at the Dutch open.
I think its great to see the lighter crews with a boat that is competitive with the bigger boats. Handicap racing or not, they will be beating most of them accross the line. Just awesome.

I was actually working up to report that fact, but you have beaten me to it. Great show indeed, especially with the conditions. Wouter

Posts: 571 Hamburg | Unrelated, but worth mentioning: Macca sits at position 52 out of 63 in the Texel open. A poor showing really.
I guess the weight of his F18 was not enough to prevent failure of his Nacra hardware (I thought he said he was no longer sailing for Nacra?), as he has a 18th finish, a dns and the rest dnc. Maybe a lighter better designed boat would have resisted the elements better.
For the uninitiated, what I'm doing here is called trolling, aka posting a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument. Watch this space.
With this single post you do more harm to your class than Macca with 100. If there are so many moderators for this forum, I am wondering why this thread isn't deleted | | | Re: F16's at The Dutch Nationals and TEXEL

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | I think it's called giving as good as it takes and I think, hope really hope that Macca improves. "WARNING" Don't take the above comment the wrong way, I started this thread to identify how well F16's are doing. Also because I like to read race reports and thought you might too. jeeze.......chill......it's the weekend and two days worth of racing to look forward to (Welsh Cat Champs) the F16 TT has been abandoned due to lack of interest!

Posts: 893 | But, carry on by all means! Saves me the trouble So prophetic. Listen people it is pretty normal in English banter that if someone openly puts themselves out in front of their peers by extolling them of their " greatness " that when that person screws up, as inevitiably these sort of peole do, the peer group then duely kicks them firmly in the goollies and puts the boot in wherever they can. If Macca wants to create an image of being a godlike prophetical creature then he has to live up to expectations of the masses. | | | Re: F16's at The Dutch Nationals and TEXEL

Posts: 893 | BTW is there any significance to the Vipers being entered as Viper and not F16?
Its the usual taking the softer 104 handicap, IMO it does them no favours in the longer term but on the other hand, what fantastic results they seem to be getting. | | | Re: F16's at The Dutch Nationals and TEXEL

And how would it do them any harm whatsoever if they run the legitimate handicap for their boat at a handicap event? If anything it harms the credibility and growth of F16 as a legitimate class if the biggest builder in the class is not interested in representing their boat as a F16 but as a 104. But with people in F16 such as you Wayne, can you blame them? | | | Re: F16's at The Dutch Nationals and TEXEL

I have no problem with them running a 104 handicap but then please take off the F16 logos and advertising from the boat, by all means set up a manufacturers class but please when the F16's enter a manufacturers mixed comp by ballasting up to weight, then don't cry fowl. Equally I think every F18 and every boat on the course should get a measurment certificate and have their own individual rating as that also would be the fairest way for all. As to a manufacturer being put off by one individual on an internet forum, shucks they must be very soft pussies. | | |
