Posts: 205 Melb. Aust | Hi All, Our very own Matt Stone has opted out of our end of winter cold, and into an early Italian Autumn. He has also given up on the Mosquito in favour of a Tornado He is battling jetlag and crewing in the European Championships due to start on the 15th at Torbole, Lake Garda . Keep an eye on the action, and drool at the yacht club here: http://www.circolovelatorbole.com/en/He is over there at the moment putting the boat together in readiness for Wednesday. I am sure we all wish him the best of weather. Trevor

Half his luck. The videos certainly highlight the area nicely. Sometimes you just have to make the most of any opportunities passing by, and obviously Matt is doing just that!
Any idea as to which boat he is sailing on? The competitors' list has the skippers listed, but not crew. Just Do It 1732

Posts: 416 | hey peoples having a blast, first day was 20 to 25 knots, 3 races, its tough, trapping off back corner with spin is like life and death, its scary mate., sooo much power, but is ok im not leaving the mossie guys, im on torni 317 with skipper peter gibb, great bloke. the other guys ryan and david had gear failer as they have a dnf and dns, but really good sailors. yesterday arvo was no wind but can in for 2 hours at 4pm. we didnt have a great race but still hanging in there against the best in the world. High lights: 3rd race on first day we were about 10th going upwind when peters trap snapped and i had to sail the tornado around withuou tipping as it was 25 knots and the boats were going pulling out and tipping over like flies, and jerri rigged a trap out of spectra and kept going and payed to stay out as we got 21st i think. so all the back enders out there never give up, it pays to finish. today is no wind at all.
stay tuned for more
