As a Cat sailor and USS member, I'm particularly interested in what USS is doing with regard to cat sailing.

The most recent financial statements (2010)(literally three clicks away from their home page) are here. The budget graphic is also available, but hasn't been updated. BTW, the treasurer of US Sailing is Leslie Keller, who just happens to own Hobie Cats Northwest with Dan Carpenter.

That's too bad. It should be, imo.
With the BoD looking at organization within USS maybe that will change.

Posts: 5,525 | http://about.ussailing.org/Assets/BOD/2011-2012+BOD+Year/BOD+Minutes+2011+11+21.pdfTop of page 2. "President Jobson announced that he is naming a Study Group to look at our organizational structure: David Elwell, Chair Mason Christman Bruce Monroe Bizzy Monte-Santo Tom Shaddon" So it isn't the BoD.

As a Cat sailor and USS member, I'm particularly interested in what USS is doing with regard to cat sailing. We were starting to worry about you Pete, it's been about a week since your last good US Sailing bashing. Who exactly did you contact at US Sailing for this information? In case you’re missing it, there’s a very consistent theme here, Catsailor.com is NOT an official portal into US Sailing. As I mentioned in your other thread last week: Mark, Matt, or any other volunteers that hang out here (including me) have limited "power" to answer some of your (very valid) questions. Hope this helps. Mike | | | Re: USS budget

Posts: 5,525 | It wasn't on this forum. It was an email but now I can't find it. It was sent to the treasurer from the USS site so I guess my email doesn't keep those copies.

Posts: 932 Solomon's Island, MD | /Flame Suit On Its hard to criticize an organization without even willing to volunteer your time to support expanding that organizations reach. If you are at least willing to consider volunteering your time and investigating the organization in order to do that that is one thing. If that org doesn't want your help (I get that feeling from US Sailing in regards to Multi's), that is another. /Flame Suit Off
I too would like to know where our money is being spent, how U.S Sailing is supporting multi's etc. I think this should be public information. But what I want and think doesn't necessarily mean crap to the USS management etc. I don't have to agree with all their actions, just do what I need to do to qualify to sail the events I want to sail, if I so choose.
