What's the general recommendation for attaching a snuffer line to a spinnaker? I've got a spinnaker with no provisions for a snuffer line that I would like to add some to. Obviously the attachment points should be re-inforced but is it better to use grommets or a small nylon webbing loop? I've seen them both ways. Does either help reduce the ball of sail going into the snuffer?

I have both, webbing on the I20 and grommet on the M4.3... can't really tell a difference between the two. If you are not religious about drying sails before putting away, the webbing will not corrode.

New Tiger spin has grommets with small ss rings attached. Much less reinforcement than earlier chutes. I would think more reinforcement and straps would cause more bunching as the material is thicker in the patch area. Just my opinion but the new ones seem to work fine with no tears so far. I have Bill Hendricks modifying my old spin to this for the mid pole. Rick

Please describe the "grommet with small SS ring attached". Is this a do it yourself? There has to be some reinforcement- how large a patch and how many thicknesses?
I shold think loops would wear like crazy, but less bunching is good!

Looks like a single layer of extra cloth in an X pattern with a small gremmet in the center. A small line with a small stainless steel ring tied to it is passed through the grommet and fastened with a stopper knot. The retrieval line is then passed thru the SS rings and then dead ended at the top grommet. Much easier to see than describe
