And we've got some paint trading at the turn gate... along with a few "colorful meatophores"

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | pretty wierd course, too. But made for lots of "zero to hero" moves in the bottlenecks.
Congrats to Luna Rossa for their showing on home turf.
What I wonder is how well this light air stuff is preparing them for the typical 20+ knot SF Bay?

Posts: 2,921 Michigan | can someone tell me how much the righting moment of one of these cats increases when the goofballs sailing them hike out as if they were on a monoslug? I am referring to the pic on front page of SA

I suspect that is why the Oracle boats made such a poor showing in Venice. Remember in Naples when the wind was strong and the chop was a lot worse, the Oracle boats were having a field day of it.

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | They did well in Plymouth too, if memory serves... But then again I think everyone was trying to get dialed in on those boats. It really almost looked like one of our regional regattas with all the bumper-boats and flips at that England regatta.
I did like the Venice course due to its proximity to the spectators/fleet, but I don't think you could do that same course if the wind was up for fear of damage/injury...
Still, where do you see boats going 2x windspeed right along the seawall... pretty sweet even if conditions were light...
