Yes, it has an interesting rig with the partial wing. All up weight of 85 Kg = 188#. It reminds me of a Wave on steroids. Do you have any more of the specs? This looks like a great toy.

I'd like to see how it works in medium chop (up to 0.75 meter) and how you'd right the thing.

It's a freestanding wing, no shrouds or trap wires. There's a discussion of it on SA's multihulls forum.

I know only what I can find on the links I provided and associated ones from those links which is why I am looking for more info. I have a Wave and a Mystere 4.3 so I can better appreciate what this boat seems to offer. I would like to confirm that the standard order of rigging is turned around - it looks like the sail goes on the mast before the mast is raised and that happens before the tramp goes on (the front beam needs to rotate to raise and lower the mast). The free standing mast really provides a "clean" package and the carbon mast makes it easy to recover from a capsize (shown in one of the videos). There is no trapeeze most likely due to the free standing mast so it is much closer to the Wave in concept but maybe as fast as the Mystere (maybe faster upwind and slower down). It does look quite quick as it should be at that low weight and the hulls look relatively tall for a drier ride and or more weight carrying capacity. Certainly intriuging enough to want to know more.

Thanks, Dave, I read through it all and was reminded why I don't normally read SA! I think the best idea would be to take this concept (free standing carbon wing/sail) and the biplane concept and marry them. You should get the best of both worlds (reduced weight/cost in the rig and beam), simplicity, and more sail area with low CE which works well with no trapeeze. Then you would also not have to take off the tramp to derig.

Curious how they make the mast free standing and rotate? Looks pretty neat. I would also miss my trap lines.

A Laser mast is free standing and rotates, it's just not wing shaped. They must have a deep mast step socket between the hulls on this thing?

One of the most fun things to do on a cat is to trapeeze though, so it would be nice if they could add that, and a spinnaker and lifting foils and and and...

To me, this looks like a wing mast. Think of it as a flattened, really flexible mast or a really narrow sail, stiff enough to standup on it's own. A wing mast bends like an aircraft wing. It is built to bend with the wind speed and loads. I would be surprised if it could stand trap loads. If it could, trapping out would put more curve in the mast and try to bend the tip windward. It would be like easing your outhaul and sheeting in. Probably not the best idea.

the mast of the little cat looks strong enough for trapping. maybe there is another reason for no trap?
