| hi al, great video on u tube,even if the AC72 does 100 mph, if it cannot point, it is a loser everytime, and you can see it, plus when the wind drops to non foil speed, the boat speed is perfect for fishing, no kidding, imagine the drag on those foils!i used to take kids sailing, they loved putting thier feet and arms in the water underway,..water would splash up..just like these foils!i recall hydrofoil designs were powerboat technology,plus the horizontal axis pitching is quite extreme,..the leading edge of the mainsail pitches just like the hull, imagine trying to trim that!..why the jib?

I've done it on a M6.0 flying the hull to weather. I was only making about 70 degrees. All was fine until I got greedy and tried to sheet a little harder. That's when the big jib overpowered the rudders and I went for a swim. It's amazing what you can encounter if you do this a lot and long enough.
