I recieved for Christmas a new harken cleat to replace the old metal cleat for the main traveller.When I took the old metal cleats off there is posts that the old bolts went through.These posts are not necessary for the new cleats.has any one else made this conversion.need some advice

I have made this conversion before. You can buy an adapter plate that allows the new cleat to attach to the old base (Murrays catalog page 34 $7.40 including plate and fasteners), or buy a new swivel assembly (thats what I did).

Had a chat with the hobie dealer .apparently you can drill out the posts ,widen the old holes and bolt it on through the same holes
