Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | Buzzelli regatta is asking all sailors to use that, too. So I may end up using it. If only to show how poorly I navigate...

I'm not a fan of putting my phone on a catamaran...but I don't mind on my J22 where there are usually several dry spots even after a big windy day.

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | the phone touts that it is "waterproof" (yeah, right), however I'm sure it will reside in a waterproof bag ... preferably in the cabin if I can get GPS signals down there.
As an alternative they said you could upload your Garmin or Magellin GPS file to their group site. sheeewt, that's too high-tech for me.
Good luck trying to find a dry area on your F18 even in light air...

Posts: 24 Fort Myers/Cape Coral, FL | I agree with SeanT. Myself and two other boats used it in Sarasota last month, and for a free app it worked pretty well. Did not kill the battery at all and recorded for 4 hours. Then it automatically matches with other boats that uploaded for easy race watching on your computer.
Could re-watch races and totaly see where opportunities were missed. It also shows the other boats, so its like watching virtual eye from the americas cup.
