Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Are they going to start everyone at 7am? In zero wind?
They're going to need a much bigger line, unless they run rolling 5 minute starts for big Mono's, little Mono's and Cats, like a normal regatta.

I did enjoy the pursuit start as I didn't have to get my act together for a start until something like 9:30 am...

At the awards last year the Rudder Club asked the audience if they wanted to go back to the one start format and it looked like it was the leaners that were pushing it.
I prefer the pursuit start, it's nice to sleep in. At least it will be a really nice day, the high for the day is supposed to be 82.

Posts: 109 Fl | Hat Tip to all who made this year's race. Results are posted http://www.regattanetwork.com/event/12114#_homeWe actually had some wind at times this year. Start worked out well, in that no one ran into me :-) It was and upwind slog except for a few minutes at the first turn. Then a little late in the day if you got caught in the back of the fleet. The RC30 won again, but on corrected time a lot of monohulls won as would be expected for an upwind race. What was most surprising was a third overall place by a little 22 foot french trimaran. All in all weather was beautiful. See everyone next year. Cheers | | |
