Not sure I've heard the definitive answer yet, so I'll ask again:

Do the new 406mhz PLBs like the ACR Resqfix or Aquafix satisfy the EPIRB requirement for the Tybee?

They meet the registration requirement, and so it would seem to come down to battery life and a few other features, and of course what they are called versus the term used in the requirements.
