I am considering replacing my tramp on my H16 and have noticed that a new one costs $100 more for a "Hobie" tramp vs. Murray's tramp. It says the Murray's tramp is not class legal, is this something I'll get DQ'd for? I can spend the $100 on other items to make the boat faster and easier. Any help here would be great. If your going to be racing at hobie sanctioned events then go with a hobie tramp. It is worth it to have your boat all class legal. If you try to get away with the cheaper trampoline and someday you go to a regatta and there is a 14 class there is a chance someone would say something. Probably only if you were competitive though. Why bother having to worry about that? I had a problem with people saying my sails weren't class legal on my 18 this summer. Even though they have all the hobie logos and etc. It was definatley not a fun time and I had to go through the hassle of getting a letter of approval and everything. Not worth the time.
