In lack of money for the FX One, I have considered to put the spinnaker FX One spinnaker kit on my HC17.

Anyone with experience in this area?

it an be done.

its all a function relative to the time and money you put into it.

Your biggest concern will be lack of spreaders on the mast.

Jake:

The comptip isn't that big of a deal. The 18SX has its spinnaker hound mounted to the comptip right from the factory.

Granted its not as sturdy as a 100% extrusion, but oh well.

I was in the same situation. I ended up putting so much time and effort into it, that I desided to manufacture some extra stuff to offset the cost. The two primary issues are the narrow bows and the fragile comp tip. I also wanted to be able to convert back to a one design quickly. Over the last two years I've consulted with many experts and tested a lot of configurations and components, which have culminating in the final design.

E-Mail me at dnr234@aol.com or give me a call at 732-768-6080 (Cell). If I don't answer, leave a message. I have stuff for sale at a resonable cost, but I'm also happy to help you out with design advise and alternitive soarces.

I will have the following components available by by mid July:
1. Spinnaker Pole, with Crossbar fitting, stays, and blocks for tack line and halyard.
2. Fiberglass Snuffer Mouth for Pole End or Mid Pole placement with tubular mylar bag.
3. Bow crossbar designed to provide lift when bows submerge, while stiffening the narrow bows.
4. North spinnaker designed specifically for this sailplan.
5. Hardware kit including everything else.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the bows only stuff if the spin pole is to short?
