I am looking for a head cam that I can wear while racing. I haven't had much luck in finding good info on them.
Can anyone recommend one that would be suitable to wear while racing?

Thanks
Tracie

Talk to Mr. Brian Karr from www.rockledgeengineering.com- he has built a head cam system that can survive kite boarding and catamaran sailing. I'll mention it to him tonight.

Have a look at this video,

http://www.acat.vallagruppen.com/svenska/bilder.htm

shot with a headcam, and explained somewhere on the web.

The mail adress of the guy making the video is below

He will NOT thank you for posting his e-mail address on the web. He'll be getting thousands of junk mails soon

I think Rick should sanitise this (to hakan.frojdh (at) bostream.nu so the web crawlers cannot nick it.

I had grip tape on the rear beam of my I20 but didnt have the nads to ride back there from the wire, but it looks like this is the position this skipper is in. Maybe its the camera and he is just sitting on the rear of the boat, but sure looks like hes trapping off the rear beam.
Either way, some pretty cool stuff.

It crossed my mind briefly this week when I had a difficult time staying on the side of the F18....it's a powerful boat downwind but is lacking in buoyancy in the bows. Trapping off the rear beam started to make sense this week - but I didn't have the kahunas for it just yet (I'm not bored enough with heavy air sailing!). I want to try it though!

Okay, I will film you. Can you a rig a chicken line for the back of the beam too? Sure would be a long flight from the rear to the front in a pitchpole.

I routinely trap with one foot on the top of the rudder and one on the back of the back beam. On a reach, in 20knots if wind thats the only way to hold the N6.0 down. (I found that out the hard way)
Yes its precarious...best in flat water.

Bryan Karr's I20 has a chicken line for trapezing off the rear beam...although he admits not knowing ANYONE who's tried it.

Yeah...but for trapezing off the back of the boat with your feet on the rear beam?
