Posts: 256 North Europe, Sweden, Uppsala | Hi sailors! One of the first times I tested the headcam on my Hobie 16 I got the perfect weather, downwind in 20 knots of wind! The video is 3 minutes long, full dv size (720x576). ![[Linked Image]](http://www.webbo.dyndns.org/sailing/snapshot.jpg) Go to the link http://www.webbo.dyndns.org/sailing/ and select the file "h16_downwind.wmv". Don't left klick on it to play it from the server, right klick instead and save it to your harddrive and play from that one instead. Running it from the server will be a pain.... /hakan | | | Re: Headcam video, H16 downwind in high winds

Posts: 256 North Europe, Sweden, Uppsala | Here's another video with double trap reaching, no crash but nice high speed sailing. Go to the link http://www.webbo.dyndns.org/sailing/ and select the file "h16_reaching.wmv". Don't left klick on it to play it from the server, right klick instead and save it to your harddrive and play from that one instead. Running it from the server will be a pain.... The server uses adsl (512/512 kbit). If several users are downloading at the same time you will have to share the available 50 kbyte/sec. /hakan | | | Re: Headcam video, H16 downwind in high winds

Posts: 217 West Texas | Man those are awesome videos! I was going to download the 207MB one but you took it down. Anyway, I can only dream of going that far without tacking/gybing on the lake here. Usually it's 45-60 seconds per tack, 30 if the wind's up. I'm getting lots of practice with that. Post more vids when you get 'em!
Warm regards,
Jim

Posts: 125 Clinton, Mississippi | Hakan: In the downwind vid, please tell us how you manage to stay on the boat as it goes over. I am extremely impressed....with your sailing, with the video, with your steadiness, and with your ability to stick to the boat. Your butt must be made of velcro! Thanks for sharing the vids!

Posts: 256 North Europe, Sweden, Uppsala | Thank's for all the input! I must have developed som kind of survival instinc after 20 years of catsailing and crashes! I think I grabbed the rear beam when we pitchpoled, but I'm not sure..... Sorry for the poor bandwith. my ADSL link has been busy these days, 6 gigs in a couple of days, that is almost full throttle around the clock for the poor ADSL modem. This link mirrors my videos and should have no problem with bandwith!!! http://user.it.uu.se/~sanna/film//hakan | | | Re: Headcam video, H16 downwind in high winds

Excellent footage!!! Your steadiness is outstanding!
Watching these makes for a great diversion during the work day.
Have you tried using the head cam along with the setup you had on the A-cat(1st part of downwind.wmv)?
Thanks for the movies.

Posts: 851 US Western Continental Shelf | Dear Hakan,
Thank you for those beautifully produced films! I enjoy them and love to imagine that I could drive a catamaran so expertly as you have captured on film.
Keep them coming! Please?

Posts: 12 Virginia | Hakan, I have to ditto the rest of the posts. Those are great videos! One question, what is the water temp in Uppsalla? When I was younger, I lived for 6 months in Stockholm. As I recall, even in the summer, a bath like that might required Aqua Vi to warm up again! | | |
