Who knew Geraldo Rivera sailed a 70 Sparkman /Stevens around the world and now entered in this race and he is on his second pair of Plaid Bermuda's Carl!And the govenor of Bda. himself Vereker is also in the event. A little history: Two Bermudian Tornado cat sailors had the extreme fortune to befriend Randy Smythe and Paul Glaser in the 1984 US Nationals and shared the boat trailer and many tips .They won the nationals that year but lost in the olympics to the likes of in order of finish overall Rex Sellers NZL, Randy Smythe USA, Cris Cairns AUS, Paul Elvstom DEN, Burland BDA. I see Yves Loday and Goran Marstrom down the list of who's who that year also . I thought to not hijack my own post that the F-31's were either in this race or Newport Bermuda for the first time. I hope they started the F31s in the back of the Fleet. It's good advertising when all the other boats get to watch them go by.

There is a 60ft trimaran leading now I believe, the F31's will be in the Newport-Bermuda this is a first. The tracking system has most of the monohulls tightly packed and is a little difficult get a bead on who they are. Winds steady now ,were recordings of 30-50 Knots.
