Finally an update. Pete Melvin is looking pretty good still leading the Worlds after 6 races with 12 points over 2nd place Brewin and 17 points over 3rd place Ashby. I’d love to know the conditions and see some pictures. Pete is by far the most consistent sailor with all of his finishes in the top 10. He hasn’t won a race yet but his performance indicates steady and obviously smart sailing. What a great promotion for the A2, I hope they will be able to keep up with the orders after the event is over!

It’s really great to know that the US is still at the top of the game in A-Class sailing with great sailors like Pete, Charlie Ogeltree, Lars Guck, Phil Kinder, and Ben Hall keeping the standard high. What great benchmark sailors we have to race against at our regattas!

-This might upset the French if Pete wins on their home turf and then Lance comes along in July and wins Tour de France #7. GO USA!

Whew! I thought he might be in trouble after Brewin got to drop his 17th! Brewin slips and gets a 21 in race 6 leaving him stuck with that 17 after so manny bullets! Pretty exciting! Go Pete!

I looked through the list and there are only 2 sailors from the USA competing.

Hi Bob

You may not know, but bave they delivered any A2's in the USA yet? Tony Arrends helped out with the Sailing world tests at the Annapolis boat show prototype last fall and that's the last I've heard about the boat. (perhaps some rumors about pricing). Perhaps my crowd is not going for the brand new boats and that's why I haven't seen any on the water yet.

Take Care and Thanks
Mark

BUT,
Nine races are scheduled.
With seven (7) valid races they get TWO discards.

If Ashby get another first, Melvin gets another second and Brewin gets a third they will be:

Melvin - 10
Brewin - 10
Ashby - 14

Too many permutations.
It looks like it is going down to the wire

Now that would be a cool event to be at.

Congrats to Davi--local guy we sail with around here--for sailing in the Worlds as well.

Mark,

I saw a new A2 here in Houston. Real nice. Owner told me it is very fast and a lot of fun to sail.

Delivery took 4 or 5 months after placing order.
