I recently bought a Hobie 16 and am curious about whether or not the thing needs to be registered and have hull ID stickers. Florida law requires that sailboats 16' or longer require registration, but I have not seen any online pictures of H16's in Florida with registration numbers. Has anyone ever been hassled by the marine patrol or other law enforcement for not having a H16 registered? Thanks for your responses!

I guess what I should have asked is "Does anyone have a Hobie 16 that IS registered in the State of Florida, and if so, what prompted you to register it? Anybody?

Ah, after reading it again I see that it states that the boat must be titled, but doesn't say anything about being registered... cool.

It has to be titled? Oh crap.....

Next you are going to tell me I need a tag for my trailer.....
