"...and the Tiger is second to the 16, there is also active racing in many different Hobie models in different areas of the country, North America and World. Depends where you live as to which is most active."

I was thinking about new boats sold to individuals. I havn't seen a new 16 in years

And as to where I live, the A-Class was the biggest fleet at the last regatta, Tiger was second.

Eric, was that you that won the auction?

$662 for a 14 w/trailer and a sailbox! A light '84, too!

Who says that 14's aren't a bargain?

We have lots of spare kids in our fleet. Buy one of them a boat with the stipulation you get to use it at the NAC's. We could start a little 14 fleet here. It would be cool to see 4 or 5 kids racing 14's every Thursday night at fleet races. Pick a kid or donate to our fleet. I'll store it.

Yup, sight unseen...I guess I'll find out this weekend what I've got--it's about a 4 hour drive away.

I've never sailed a 14, so it'll be something new for me.

I have recently heard that the Waves that the Hobie factory people use for their picnics have had tavelers put on them. I'm thinking that that would make the boat a lot more fun off the wind and would make it the perfect youth trainer as well as old guy fun boat.
Anyone out there know how to do it?

Good point the H14 comes with a taveler.

I have put together a kit to add a traveler to the Club Wave.

# 39250000 $198.95

Comes complete with the deep profile track, brass wheeled car, swivel cleat with mount and all fasteners.

Traveling out and keeping the main sheeted helps to keep the bows from driving down in gusty and windy conditions.

Are they simple to put on and will Fast Lane Sailing have them on stock?

Thank you, Matt! I have always thought the Wave desperately needs a traveler. I will bring it up for discussion at the Wave Class Annual Meeting during Nationals to see if it can be made class legal. But I know I want one!

Installation is pretty simple. You need a drill and a rivet gun.

Fast Lane is not likely to stock them, but they are a day away via UPS.
