Just a note bout' the older H16 and new one's too. Watch out in a shore break getting turned perp. to the surf because you could lose one of those pylons and the surf was not that big.It just hit it square on the side. Never thought about it until it happened. Bob .g

So despite much advertising to the contrary, you're saying the H-16 might NOT be a great surf boat?

It always seemed to me that the H-14 was a craft with some merit, but it just did not scale-up very well to the H-16.

However I have to admit, from a bean-counters and stockholders point of view, that whole pylons-penetrating-the-deck thing was a beautiful (and devious) piece of planned obsolescence... lol.

Bob was probably refering to the skipper and not the boat. A friend of mine borrowed a Prindle from me and breached it in the surf and cracked one of the hulls.

Surf sailing is difficult and risky if you are not familiar with it. It does not matter which boat. Launching in big surf requires it's own skill set.

No it was the boat fault, It turned sideways on porpoise This friend Craig that would'nt be the "Bengalizer",if so we need to hook him up with Bruce's crew "80proof John".There is no boat that could hold up even in a roaring 10-12 knots, seas 2-3ft and ice melting all over the boat in 90F. "Oh S%&*@! I broke another beer bottle on my trap hook!

Nope, not the Bengalizer. Just a friend that went out in conditions that he was not ready for.
