On July 20&21, the 4th Annual Chick's Beach Summer Sizzler will be rockin'! For those of you who haven't attended this regatta/reggae party, you owe it to yourself to come on down!

Rasta Revolution (oft time opening band for the Wailers)will be the band again this year, the tropies are beautiful, and PRO Hans Meijer always gets the races off flawlessly!

The event will be held in front of Alexander on the Bay Resturant (sponsors for the 2-time and current Worrell 1000 Champions). This year, the event will serve as a test event for a cash purse series in the planning stages. The Gold Fleet will be racing for a $5000 purse!

After visiting W.F. in Va Beach to take a look at the new Jav 2, I am totally pumped up about the Jav 2, F-18HT Class, and the Summer Sizzler!

Does anyone need crew for the Summer Sizzler on July 20 and 21? I can arrive a day or so early to help set up the boat and practice. E-mail me and we can discuss my qualifications.

W.F.'s Javelin 2 is beautifull! The construction was considerably better than the other cats that I have checked out and his boat is set up great. My wife and myself will be talking.

I visited the regatta site for the Summer Sizzler and there is a nice sandy beach with several areas to access the beach. The event is going to be captured on video by a professional film crew, complete with aircraft! If you want to be a movie star, then I'd sail in this event. The organizers are working hard to make this a "must do" event. I hope to see you all there!

23 teams (9 F-18HTs, 7 A-Cats, and 7 Portsmouth Open boats) have e-mailed or phone to express their intent to race in the CRAC Chick's Beach Summer Sizzler. Preregistration will be available soon on the CRAC website.

This year's event will be the best yet! I hope to see you all there. If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me at williamoliver@aol.com

Sail Fast and Often,

W.F. Oliver

Don't forget to preregister, as we need to get a count for goodies, etc!

When I tried to use the link provided for the NOR, it did not work.

Can someone help me with some general information about this regatta. Best places to stay, normal wind and sea states, or any othe useful info would be appreciated. Maybe a new link would be good too.

Can I hear from anyone else that has attended this event in the past?

Barry
