I am at Road Atlanta and the boat will be here tomorrow about noon. We will be heading back to WPB after the race. Plan on setting it up either Sunday or Monday depending on when we get home.
It will be a great day tomorrow leaving my last race of the year with a new (to me) boat.
Took the new boat out yesterday for most of the day and had a great sail. The wind was light at 5-10 but it was good for learning the boat.
Now that I know the boat a little better, it sets up quickly and works great. It has some upgrades such as the traveler and jib are controled by a single line that can be utilized from the harness. The boat came with two sets of sails. One kevlar set that is in great shape and another carbon set. I am going to pull out the carbon set today to inspect it. I want both sets to be race ready.
The next thing either finding a spinnaker or fitting my screacher. The spin pole is broken but we have another pole. We just need to switch the hardware over to it. If we rig the screacher, we will need to reinforce the pole to handle the extra side load.
I would like to see it. I take it you already tried it and it works.
I pulled the second set of carbon sails out. They are in great shape. There is just has one small rip on the jib. It even has all battens but it does not have it's own boom and needs share the one from kevlar set.
I am concidering sailing the boat up to Melbourne the weekend before the race if the weather is good. It is 75 miles to Sebastian and another 30 miles to Melbourne.
