Posts: 67 Key Largo, Fl | Here are the long overdue updates to the IWCA class rules. No significant changes, just a general cleanup and re-write. We will be voting on these changes at the upcoming Wave nationals in Key Largo this December. Please feel free to contact me with any comments or questions. Posts: 11 Stockholm, Sweden | Please do not forget us European Wave sailors! As you can see from the link below http://www.hobie-cat.net/site_gb/index.php?produits,hobie_pieces (download Assembly manual or Part guidee for the Wave), our Waves from Hobie cat Europe are sold with short tiller arms and an aluminum tiller extension! The boat would be impossible to sail without a tiller extension! -- Please amend your rule! Apart from the stiff all-aluminum mast the "French" Waves are (like all other Hobies) issued with a sailnumber. Mine is 10378 on the sail produced for Hobie in China. Therefore we should be able to use these in future International racing without having to rip our numbers off and so damage our factory supplied sail. I look forward to a new set of truly International rules for this little terrific boat! Wow, any chance you could snap a picture of it? The geometry sounds similar to the EZ Lock/plastic casting system found on new Hobie Cat USA boats. | | | Re: 2006 Draft IWCA class rules

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.

Posts: 67 Key Largo, Fl | Took a picture today of the two Waves in my club. As you can see the tiller arms are really short. Apart from the hulls the fittings are standard French TheMightyHobie18/H17/H16/H14 stuff. Regards from Bengtos Thanks for the pictures. Hobie Europe must have a stockpile of the aluminum castings someplace. I'll suggest that we amend the proposed rules to allow Hobie Europe Waves to sail as equipped from the factory. Are there many European sailors embracing the "open sail" aspect of the class? I would love to have a few more hotshot sailmakers to choose from. | | | Re: 2006 Draft IWCA class rules

Posts: 3,293 Long Beach, California | Loved the stories, pics and results - thanks for providing coverage for those of us that weren't able to come down.
I didn't hear if there were any changes to the class rules voted in, and the current link is still pointing to the 2001 rules. Is there an update pending?
