A true story: During the SD fires a few weeks back, I was on another forum and some guy wrote that the fires were caused because the whacko, environmentalists don't allow logging Blah Blah Blah. The argument got my interest because I know there are no commercial logging operations in the area. There are no trees, it's chaparral, head high bushes, no trees. Well it turns out that Rush had blamed the fires on the environmental whackos and this guy was just spewing trash...There you go.
We've had a "controlled burning" policy here in Florida since the '60s. I suspect you will have to do the same. Our pine and oak thickets are extremely volatile this time of year.
