You want cheap and easy to setup, sail a sunfish.
You want big fleets, sail an El Toro or whatever dingy is popular in your area.
You want comfort, sail a daysailer.
So, why is it that we were drawn to cats in the first place?
And, will ignoring that reason draw more people to cat sailing?
