Technically Lee is correct since hobie doesn't promote catamaran sailing really. They promote hobie sailing which isn't bad by itself... but when your official events don't include catamarans other than hobies, the efforts seem rather self serving.
I am pretty sure we've promoted open events in our magazine, listed tons of Non class sponsored events on it as well and encouraged Hobie class members to attend all local multihull regattas as well as invite the IWCA guys (a really nice group of people I might add) to every event we can get away with it at. I could run naked through the streets with a huge flag saying 'Catamaran Sailing' on it if that would make you happy. I guess having it say 'mixed multihull' would probably be better......I am just trying to help here...maybe get a huge tattoo of a Cougar Catamaran on my back? Have 'Karl' shaved into the side of my head (no hair up top). Let me know what works, okay? ( I am being sarcastic only because I thought it would be funny as **** to be running around naked with a flag saying Catamaran Sailing on it.)
