It is difficult to be a woman in a male dominated sport. (kayaking was too) I am the only woman anywhere around me that is interested in cats. That is why I know that I will be sailing alone most of the time.
I know what you mean. I sail alone since my friends are too afraid of cat sailing lol. And the rest of the cat sailors (very few around here) are all males. But I dont really get lonley I mean I looooove sailing and Im too busy being overwhelemed with how much fun Im having that I dont really pay attention to anything else

You understand exactly! The thing I liked about kayaking was pushing myself to do it well. I like the same thing about sailing. I like the mental and physical challenge. There is a balancing act, a sort of dance that you do with nature. That is the hook that gets me. It has very little to do with anyone else on the water.
On the river, there was nothing better than finding the perfect line through a class V rapid. I have just gotten a small sample of what that dance might be like in sailing and I loved it!
