I've got a feeling that there is a sheet similar to maffioli (not convinced this is the right spelling) but doesn't absorb as much water, in fact it repels water. If you know of such a product could you remind me of the trade name. Also, if somebody is using such a sheet is it as flexible as normal maffioli or dyneema etc. In other words would you recommend it for Spi sheets?
Many thanks
Mark

6mm FSE Robline Racing Sheet - replaced my worn Swiftcord at the end of last season. The Robline is reeeeally nice stuff.

Mark,

I've been using the Spi Sheets I got with my Inter 17 years ago; It's Purple and I think it's known as "Marlow Marstrom".

I think it has been discontinued, but you might find a some somewhere.

When you take all the factors into account its hard to go past the Swiftcord from Maffioli.

The FSE stuff wears out a lot faster but is nice.

Alpha ropes have a Swiftcord style rope now and it looks really good, Will be testing it this year.

We were using the Bzz line from NE ropes on all Nacra's until recently. It is really nice, stays round in your hands and is light too. Only problem is that it wears out pretty fast and there isn't much warning before it breaks...
Had a few guys loose races this year because of it.

Conception from Yale is good too.

Keep an eye out for Alpha in the US soon. www.alpha-ropes.com

swiftcord de dogs reproductive juice pots

made a huge difference on my spinsheets , blows through blocks effortless when gybing allowing sheets to float round my dreaded twin forestays without a hitch , nice on mitts too , sexy lookin .

put it on mainsheet too , just as impressive , though had to add extra purchase as swift runs round blocks so easy , less friction than old tapered sheet .

thats my experience

Hi Mark
The product I was thinking about looks very similar to swiftcord but repels water therefore it is a lot lighter when wet. Maybe I just dreamt about it as I also have a feeling that it isn't supple enough for Spi sheets <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
