Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | I've got a feeling that there is a sheet similar to maffioli (not convinced this is the right spelling) but doesn't absorb as much water, in fact it repels water. If you know of such a product could you remind me of the trade name. Also, if somebody is using such a sheet is it as flexible as normal maffioli or dyneema etc. In other words would you recommend it for Spi sheets? Many thanks Mark MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: Spi sheets

I've been using the Spi Sheets I got with my Inter 17 years ago; It's Purple and I think it's known as "Marlow Marstrom".
I think it has been discontinued, but you might find a some somewhere.

Posts: 1,021 Australia | We were using the Bzz line from NE ropes on all Nacra's until recently. It is really nice, stays round in your hands and is light too. Only problem is that it wears out pretty fast and there isn't much warning before it breaks... Had a few guys loose races this year because of it. Conception from Yale is good too. Keep an eye out for Alpha in the US soon. www.alpha-ropes.com | | | Re: Spi sheets

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | Hi Mark The product I was thinking about looks very similar to swiftcord but repels water therefore it is a lot lighter when wet. Maybe I just dreamt about it as I also have a feeling that it isn't supple enough for Spi sheets <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> MP*MULTIHULLS | | |
