I've seen some pics of paper tigers with a pretty neat traveller setup that runs through the centre beam to a cleat near the mainsheet, looked pretty simple to do. Basicall uses a small harken or ronstan flip-flop block mounted on a carbon or alloy platform mounted on the back side of the beam, then I think there was a small alloy tube glued or welded through the back beam for the line to run through into the centre beam, pretty simple from there. Basically the traveller line runs backwards to the flip-flop block, through the centre beam then forwards to a cleat platform.
Might make a little too much clutter on a mozzie though, especially if you are running the kite gear to the centre beam.
