I have purchased an F18 spinnaker and have some questions regarding installation. After reading posts and Wouters manual on the subject I still have some questions.

1. Attaching the halyard block to the mast using a line entering the mast within the curf. Wont the knots inside the curf prevent/hinder the sail bolt rope from going past this point?
2. Attachment hardware for the pole to the cross beam. Anything out there? I am thinking about a U bracket with a pin at the pole and a eyelet or so at the cross beam

Anyone with another P19 that can offer some experienced based insight would be really appreciated. Also looking for any used parts that may be laying around.

Thanks

1. The lines will not affect the sail being hoisted. The grove is big. You need to drill two holes on each side of the track. You put the line in one hole and pull it out the other. The make a stopper knot so the knot is not in the track, but on the side of the mast. Drill the holes close to the back of the luff groove, but DO NOT drill into the mast and unseal it.
2. I used the identical plunger arrangement that wouter used and just drilled a hole in the main beam casting. Works great.

My one tip would be the only mistake I made was that I did not determine the placement of the halyard block correctly. My sail was designed to have a 1 foot tail between the sail and the block. I did not know that. Set the block so when fully hoisted you can grab the luff and twist you hand 90 degrees.

Post here if you have anymore questions.

Good Luck,

Matt

The knots go on the outside of the mast. Both lines go thru, and get stopper-knotted on the outside. It's also possible to simply tie a loop so there's only one line thru the mast track. I misdrilled mine (too far aft) and had to use JBWeld and make a little "bullnose" on the top of the bolt rope so the sail would skid past the halyard loop without sticking.
Good luck!

From the base of the mast measure up 26.5 feet for the halyard block.

As per the rest of the measurements find a Tiger or F18 for the pole length and block placement. (I've got them at the office).

Otherwise the sheeting angle will be off and the sail won't trim properly.
